General Accountant (US & PH)
We are a cutting-edge start-up BPO specializing in AI-driven customer engagement solutions. Our flagship platform integrates intelligent chatbots into business websites, combining AI with a human touch to enhance customer interactions. We are looking for an experienced General Accountant to help us establish and manage our accounting operations for both our US entity (ChatRep, Inc.) and our Philippine entity (ChatRep PH, Inc.). This role will ensure our financial records are accurate, compliant, and ready for growth as we scale globally.
Description
The General Accountant will be responsible for setting up and maintaining our financial systems, managing day-to-day bookkeeping, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with all relevant business registrations and tax obligations in the Philippines. This role will work closely with our US-based CPA for consolidated reporting and US compliance while directly handling Philippine accounting and tax filings. As a small, start-up organization, we are looking for a hands-on professional who can establish strong financial processes from the ground up and be flexible as we grow.

Responsibilities
- Set up and manage accounting systems in QuickBooks (or Xero, Hashmicro, Opulent, or QNE), including creating a customized chart of accounts for both US entity and PH entity.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of all BIR operational requirements—including monthly, quarterly, and annual filings—as well as all applicable taxes in compliance with Philippine regulations.
- Record and reconcile all business transactions for both US and Philippine entities.
- Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
- Ensure timely filing of all Philippine business registrations, tax returns, and compliance reports.
- Collaborate with our US CPA for consolidated financial reporting and provision of Philippine financial data.
- Maintain organized financial records, receipts, and documentation.
- Implement efficient bookkeeping processes and internal controls.
- Provide insights on cost control, cash flow, and budget forecasting.
- Stay current with Philippine tax laws and regulations to ensure full compliance.
- Support financial aspects of company growth, including payroll and benefits administration for PH employees.

Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Philippine accounting standards, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks or Xero.
- Ability to manage accounting for multiple entities in different jurisdictions.
- At least 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (Philippines and US exposure preferred).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management.
- Ability to work independently and proactively set up processes from scratch.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate with US CPA and internal teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a start-up or small business environment.
- Exposure to US GAAP or working with US-based accountants.
- Familiarity with payroll systems and benefits administration in the Philippines.
- Problem-solving mindset with a process improvement focus.
